As commissioned by NIF Zrt., the reconstruction of the tracks and related facilities of the Székesfehérvár railway hub is carried out by the SDD Consortium.
As part of the reconstruction carried out in 2015 and 2016, the whole track network at the station is reconstructed with the connected drainage systems in a length of 19 km. In order to increase the speed, seven groups of large radius sidings, 49 groups of simple sidings and 15 groups of crossover sidings are constructed. The entire utility network of the station is reconstructed in accordance with the utility operators’ and recipients’ declarations. With respect to engineering structures, a new pedestrian subway is constructed at the place of the current subway connecting the departure platforms, the subway connecting the arrival platforms will become a cable tunnel, and the road and pedestrian subways of the city are also reconstructed. In accordance with the modified track layout, the entire catenary network of the station is refurbished and reconstructed together with the connected power supply system, and the area lighting is also renewed. Due to the restructuring of the operational functions, the station building is reconstructed, the passenger lounge and the cashier’s hall are also renovated, and access is provided for the disabled to three new island platforms. The required noise control is implemented.
As general designer, FŐMTERV Zrt. prepares the construction phase designs of the railway line and connected facilities as well as the missing approval and detailed designs of the building trades and participates in the required design approval processes. In addition to construction, it ensures the design engineer’s continuous presence and supervision on the site.
The reconstruction of the signalling system and telecommunications systems of the railway hub are carried out under a related simultaneous project, where the Contractors have the obligation to consult each other on a tight schedule both at the design and construction levels.
