Our Company participated in the preparation and design of the South Stream natural gas pipeline as a member of the EUROIL-FŐMTERV-UNITEF-YUZHNIIGIPROGAZ Consortium. The pipeline, which is suitable for transmitting about 30 billion m3 of natural gas per year, would have been constructed with a diameter of 1,400 mm and at a pressure of nearly 100 bar on the Hungarian section between Serbia and Slovenia in a length of nearly 250 km (with a compressor station, sectionalising stations, etc.). Our Company participated in the preparation of a preliminary technical design (FEED study) and the integrated environment use permitting documentation, carried out the preparatory design tasks relating to finding a conflict-free corridor (surveying works, procurement of maps, geotechnics, site inspection tour, route exploration, consultations, etc.). It was a high priority task to determine the locations of road, railway, watercourse, utility and other crossing points and to devise technical solutions for the crossings.
